Recently I’ve come across some clients who are waiting to sell their home until after the winter. However, there are many reasons to put your property on the market now. If you’re concerned about showing traffic, remember that buyers who are more serious continue searching in the winter. There are qualified buyers out there who need a home who can’t wait until the spring. Plus, with new technology, such as video and virtual 360, serious buyers can view the home online.
The competition is to your advantage! There are definitely fewer homes on the market, but that means the homes that are for sale, stand out.

If you’ve been searching for the right home, there’s no need to stop during the winter. You can find your perfect home and can also negotiate a fair price during these snow filled days. Depending on the market, there may be less competition, and less of a chance of bidding wars. You can also see how a home works during the winter, which is usually the toughest time of the year for a home. You can spot leaks, see if the insulation works, and see if ice dams form.
Mortgage rates are still low. Take advantage of the low rates now because they may change soon. They’ve been historically low so now is the time to act.
